London – 9 May 2017 – Today Amazon announced Prime Live Events, a new live entertainment programme exclusively for Prime members giving fans the opportunity to see their favourite artists perform up close and personal in iconic locations. Venues have been carefully selected to create a unique and intimate experience for fans and artists alike. Prime Live Events will be filmed and made exclusively available on Prime Video internationally, allowing Prime members to watch the concerts at no extra cost to their membership.

The first Prime Live Event takes place on 23 May with one of the world’s most influential and legendary bands - Blondie - performing a mix of their greatest hits and new material from the brand new album, Pollinator, to 750 fans at the historic and intimate Round Chapel in Hackney. This will be one of the smallest and most intimate venues the band have played in their career, and it will mark 40 years to the week of their first ever performance in the UK which took place at the Village Bowl in Bournemouth in 1977. Tickets go on sale this Thursday at 9.00 am exclusively for Prime members at tickets.amazon.co.uk/prime-live-events.

The Prime Live Events schedule for June and July includes the legendary singer-songwriter Alison Moyet playing her first London show of 2017 on 12 June at the Round Chapel Hackney, with the event set to include a unique pre-gig audience Q&A. Tickets also go on sale for this Prime Live Event this Thursday at 9.00 am. The next Prime Live Events in the series includes one of Britain’s best loved bands, Texas, playing to 600 fans on 16 June at the stunning art deco venue Porchester Hall, and one of the country’s most successful recording artists, Katie Melua, playing two dates on 25 & 26 July at the historic Cadogan Hall in Chelsea to 770 fans each night.

More artists will be announced throughout the year and customers can sign-up to get updates every Tuesday on Prime Live Events, including details on new artists and ticket availability. The rolling schedule of announced events can be found at tickets.amazon.co.uk/prime-live-events, and Prime members can also find out details by following on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

“We want to offer Prime members the best live entertainment experience they’ve ever had by giving them the chance to see their favourite artists perform up close and personal in iconic and intimate venues,” said Geraldine Wilson, General Manager of Amazon Tickets. “We’re delighted to reveal our first line up of fantastic artists performing Prime Live Events in stunning venues to audiences of less than 800, and Prime members in the UK and internationally will have the chance to watch the performance on Prime Video.”

“We are excited to be performing at the first Prime Live Event marking 40 years since our first gig in the UK,” said Blondie’s lead singer, Debbie Harry. “The Round Chapel is an intimately warm and beautiful room allowing our fans to get up close and personal.”

In addition to Prime Live Events, Prime members now also have exclusive access to Amazon Tickets pre-sales to music, theatre and touring shows across the UK, enabling them to purchase tickets at least 24 hours before they go on sale to the general public. Furthermore, Prime members have access to premium seating options which include the exclusive Amazon lounges at The O2 and the SSE arena, Wembley in London. Lounge package tickets allow Prime members to skip the line, arrive early and enjoy food and drink in premium surroundings before taking their seats which have great views of the stage.
