1. Will shareholders be able to make a partial election?
Yes. A shareholder will be able to elect to have a percentage of their bonus shares bought back by the company and retain the balance of their bonus shares.

2. Will a shareholder have to make a new election to sell or retain the bonus shares each time SKYCITY makes a profit distribution?
No. Provision will be made for a shareholder’s election to continue until the company receives a new notice with different instructions. Shareholders will be able to make a new election in respect of each bonus issue if they wish to do so.

3. Are the bonus shares a different class of share?
The bonus shares issued will be ordinary shares: the same class as shares already on issue.

4. Will subsequent bonus share issue distributions calculate a shareholder’s entitlement off the total number of shares held including previous bonus shares retained?
Yes. There is no distinction between the entitlements of existing ordinary shares and new bonus shares to participate in subsequent issues.

5. If a shareholder chooses to retain their bonus shares do they need to be included in the shareholder’s tax return?
For most shareholders the answer will be no. However shareholders should seek their own independent tax advice.

6. If a shareholder retains the bonus shares and then sells them at a later date are there any tax consequences?
This will depend on specific circumstances and shareholders are advised to seek their own independent tax advice. Generally, unless you are considered a share trader the proceeds from the sale of the bonus shares some time in the future will not be subject to tax.

7. Is a shareholder better or worse off than if the company paid a cash dividend?
If a shareholder wishes to receive a cash distribution as they did previously they can do so by electing to sell their bonus shares back to the company. Election of this option will result in the shareholder receiving a fully-imputed payment of the same amount as they would have received if the company had paid a cash dividend.
