OraSure Technologies Appoints Senior Vice President, Business Development
BETHLEHEM, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 2006--OraSure Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSUR), the market leader in oral fluid diagnostics, today announced that Mark Kirtland has been appointed as the Company's Senior Vice President, Business Development.
Mr. Kirtland has over fourteen years of experience in healthcare and medical diagnostics, with a particular focus on the assessment and commercialization of new technologies. He brings to OraSure Technologies extensive transactional experience in the evaluation, licensing, and acquisition of technologies and products. Since 2005, Mr. Kirtland worked for Valeo Medical as Vice President, Commercial Operations. From 1997 to 2005, Mr. Kirtland held several management positions at Cytyc Corporation, serving as Director of Marketing and Business Development, Senior Director, Strategic Marketing, and most recently as Principal, Corporate Development Group. Prior to his time at Cytyc, Mr. Kirtland held various product management positions at Wyeth and was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, Inc. Mr. Kirtland received an M.S. degree in Bioengineering from Columbia University and a B.S. degree in Biology from Christian Brothers University.
