OraSure Technologies Reschedules Annual Meeting Date

BETHLEHEM, Pa., Jan 25, 2002 (BW HealthWire) -- OraSure Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:OSUR) today announced that its 2002 Annual Meeting of Stockholders has been rescheduled and will now be held on May 20, 2002, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

A specific meeting site will be communicated to stockholders in the proxy materials distributed for the annual meeting. As previously announced, stockholder proposals had to be received no later than December 20, 2001, in order to be considered for inclusion in the Company's proxy statement under relevant Securities and Exchange Commission rules.

Because of the change in the meeting date, stockholder proposals and Director nominations by stockholders must be received no later than February 20, 2002, in order to be considered at the annual meeting under the Company's Bylaws.
