Douglas A. Michels

President and Chief Executive Officer

Douglas A. Michels joined OraSure Technologies, Inc. in June 2004, as President and Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Board of Directors. He is an Executive Officer and member of the Executive Committee.

Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Michels spent 19 years with Johnson & Johnson and seven years with Abbott Laboratories. At Johnson & Johnson, he was President, International, for Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Inc., and President of Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems, Inc. He also held numerous General Management and Marketing and Sales positions, in both medical devices and diagnostics. While at Abbott Laboratories, he held various sales and marketing positions.

Mr. Michels currently serves as a member of the U.S. Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) and serves on the Board of St. Luke's Hospital and Health Network in Bethlehem, PA and West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc, in Lionville, PA. Mr. Michels previously served on the Board of the National Blood Foundation, the Board of the National Committee for Quality Health Care, and the Coalition to Protect America's Health Care.

Mr. Michels received a B.S. degree in Public Health Administration from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Rutgers University.

Ronald H. Spair

Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer

Ronald H. Spair joined the Company in November 2001, as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at which time he also became a member of the Board of Directors in October 2006. He is an Executive Officer and member of the Executive Committee.

Mr. Spair has extensive senior financial experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Before joining OraSure he was with Delsys Pharmaceutical Corporation as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to Delsys, he was Chief Financial Officer for three public companies – Supergen, Inc., Sparta Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and Envirogen, Inc. During this period, Mr. Spair had responsibility for directing finance, accounting, financial planning, treasury, human resources, risk management and information technology matters at these companies. Mr. Spair has also had extensive experience negotiating mergers and acquisitions, development and licensing transactions and corporate financings. Mr. Spair currently serves on the Board of Directors for Fulton Financial Corporation and Pennsylvania Bio.

Mr. Spair is a Certified Public Accountant and received both his B.S. in Accounting and his MBA from Rider College.

Tony Zezzo

Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales

Tony Zezzo is Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales. He joined the Company in January 2011, and has responsibility for providing leadership and oversight for OraSure’s global marketing and sales operations, which includes the domestic and international sales teams for OraSure’s infectious disease and substance abuse businesses, marketing, and client services/customer care.

Mr. Zezzo is an accomplished senior executive with 30 years experience in the diagnostics industry. He most recently served as Vice President, North America Sales and Marketing at the Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics division of Johnson & Johnson.

Mr. Zezzo joined Johnson & Johnson in 1985 and has since held a series of executive positions covering both domestic and international markets. In 1994 he became Executive Director, Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems. In 1996, Mr. Zezzo returned to Ortho Diagnostics as Executive Director, Marketing and Sales for the AIDS/Hepatitis Division, and in 1999 he assumed the role of Vice President Sales and Marketing for all of Ortho’s businesses in the United States, Canada and Latin America.

Mr. Zezzo received his B.A. degree from Grove City College. He belongs to the American Association of Blood Banks and is a member of the board at the National Blood Foundation.

Jack E. Jerrett

Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Jack Jerrett joined OraSure Technologies in November 2000 as Vice President and General Counsel and was promoted to Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in February 2003. He is also an Executive Officer of the Company.

Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Jerrett served as Associate General Counsel and Senior Counsel at PPL Electric Utilities Corporation since July 1998. Prior to joining PPL, Mr. Jerrett served as Senior Corporate Attorney at Union Pacific Corporation and as an Associate with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

Mr. Jerrett received his B.S. in Accounting and Juris Doctor from Villanova University.

Mark L. Kuna

Senior Vice President, Finance, Controller and Assistant Secretary

Mark L. Kuna has been the Company's Senior Vice President, Finance and Controller since September 2006, and served as Vice President and Controller since February 2003 and as Controller since February 2001. He is an Executive Officer of the Company.

Mr. Kuna has also served as the Company's Assistant Secretary since May 2002 and provided accounting and financial analysis support since joining the Company in October 2000.

Prior to that time, Mr. Kuna served as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for the greater Philadelphia region of XO Communications, Inc., and Vice President and Principal Accounting Officer of Wedco Technology, Inc. Prior to joining Wedco Technology, he was an accountant with Deloitte and Touche.

Mr. Kuna received his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Scranton, is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, and is a member of the Pennsylvania and American Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.

Nancy J. McLane

Senior Vice President, Operations

Nancy McLane is Senior Vice President, Operations at OraSure Technologies. She joined the Company in December 2009 and has overall responsibility for the Company’s operations including manufacturing, engineering, quality control, procurement and logistics, environmental health and safety and the process improvement and technology transfer functions.

Ms McLane has extensive experience in Operations including over 20 years relevant experience in the medical device and diagnostic industry at C.R Bard, Johnson & Johnson and LifeSync Corporation.

Prior to joining OraSure, Ms. McLane was Senior Vice President of Operations at Lifesync Corporation where she had responsibility for operations, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and global supply chain and customer service for the medical device start-up that specializes in wireless electrocardiogram systems. Previously, she served as Executive Director of Operations at Cordis Corporation, a Johnson & Johnson company, where she had roles in operations management and new product development support. Prior to her work at Johnson & Johnson, Ms. McLane spent thirteen years at C.R. Bard, a multi-national producer and distributor of medical devices, where she held roles as Plant Manager at facilities in the U.S. and in Mexico.

Ms. McLane holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Northeastern University and an MBA from Bentley College.

Michael Reed, Ph.D

Senior Vice President, Research and Development and Chief Science Officer

Michael Reed is Senior Vice President of Research and Development and Chief Science Officer. He joined the Company in April 2016 and has responsibility for research and development, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, and clinical affairs.

Dr. Reed has more than 20 years of experience in life sciences and diagnostics research and development across an extensive array of disciplines including globally regulated IVD development and commercialization of molecular and cellular applications and systems. Prior to joining the Company, Dr. Reed spent eight years as part of the management team at Beckman Coulter, a global diagnostics and life sciences company within the Danaher Corporation.

At Beckman Coulter, Dr. Reed served in a variety of leadership positions including Director of Global Assay and Applications Development for the Beckman Coulter Life Science business and Director of Scientific Affairs for the Cellular Analysis Business Group. Under his leadership, the Company launched and commercialized over 300 products globally across multiple disciplines.

Prior to his work at Beckman Coulter, Dr. Reed served as Director of Product Development with Osmetech Molecular Diagnostics where he led the effort to develop two U.S. FDA 510K cleared IVD systems for cystic fibrosis genotyping and a pharmacogenetics test to guide warfarin dosing.

Dr. Reed received a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Adelaide (Australia) and a BSc. in Biochemistry from The Australian National University (Canberra, Australia). He conducted post-doctoral research at the Beckman Research Institute at the City of Hope in Duarte, California.

Brian Smith

Senior Vice President and General Manager, Molecular Collection Systems

Brian Smith joined DNA Genotek in January 2008, as the Vice President of Sales and was promoted to Senior Vice President and General Manager, Molecular Collection Systems in June 2016. He is a member of the Executive Committee.

Mr. Smith has over 30 years domestic and international marketing and business development experience. He has applied his knowledge and expertise commercializing innovative technology in early stage markets to numerous early stage and small cap companies. Prior to joining DNA Genotek, he was Director of Sales and Marketing for Telephonetics VIP plc, a UK speech recognition company, after having orchestrated the sale of Voice Integrated Products to Telephonetics plc. Previous positions include Vice President of Marketing at Cloakware Corporation (Ottawa), President of Ponte Communications (California), and executive positions at Entrust Technologies in both North America and Europe.

Mr. Smith has a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University with a major in Management Information Systems.

Jill Thompson

Senior Vice President, Business Development

Jill Thompson joined OraSure Technologies in 2012 as Senior Vice President, Business Development.

Ms. Thompson brings to OraSure extensive business development, sales and marketing expertise, most recently as Vice President of Licensing & Business Development for Alere, Inc. (formerly Inverness Medical Innovations), where she drove acquisitions and licensing agreements for new medical technologies and products focused on diagnosing disease, including extensive contractual, legal, and patent work. During her extensive tenure at Alere, she also held roles as Director of Sales and Marketing for Drugs of Abuse and International Sales Manager for Rapid Diagnostics.

Prior to Alere, Ms. Thompson was with Bristol-Myers Squibb, where she marketed products for the Neuroscience Infectious Disease Division. On the sales side, Ms. Thompson represented Astra Pharmaceuticals where she was involved in the marketing of the blockbuster drug Prilosec.

Ms. Thompson received a B.S. in Psychology from Texas A&M University.

Kathleen Weber

Senior Vice President and General Manager, Consumer Products

Kathleen Weber joined the Company in November 2012 as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Consumer Products. Ms. Weber is a member of the Executive Committee.

Ms. Weber has nearly 25 years of consumer health care and marketing experience. Prior to joining OraSure, Ms.Weber held several senior leadership positions in marketing, sales and Rx-to-OTC switch at Pfizer Consumer HealthCare, Johnson and Johnson Consumer HealthCare and Schering –Plough Healthcare. She has managed categories ranging from pain management, respiratory care, feminine hygiene, skin care and oral care, leading iconic brands such as Listerine, Claritin, Neosporin, Dr. Scholl’s, Stayfree and Carefree.

She began her career in the financial services industry and held various positions in US and global marketing and operations at Chase Manhattan Bank.

Ms. Weber has a broad range of organizational leadership experience covering consumer and professional marketing, product and service marketing, strategic alliances, acquisitions, integrations and proven success commercializing a variety of products in diverse regulatory, political and economic environments.

Ms. Weber received a B.S. degree in business administration from Georgetown University and earned an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
