|Scripps to Report Third Quarter Results; Web Cast of Conference Call Available|

Scripps Company (NYSE: SSP) will report third quarter 2003 operating results before trading on the New York Stock Exchange begins Tuesday, Oct. 14. A telephone conference call with members of the company's senior management team will follow at 11 a.m. EDT.
Scripps will offer a live audio Web cast of the conference call. To access the Web cast, visit www.scripps.com , choose "investor relations," then follow the "Live Web Cast" link at the top of the page. Listeners need Windows Media Player to access the call online.
