|Aguilar to Retire as President and Publisher of San Angelo (Texas) Standard-Times|
|CINCINNATI, April 11, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Robert Aguilar, president
and publisher of the Standard-Times of San Angelo, Texas, will retire at the
end of this year, ending a career that has spanned four decades in the
Aguilar, 64, will search for a new general manager of the newspaper and will assist in a smooth transition of leadership. He will remain associated with the Standard-Times as publisher emeritus to maintain the strong ties that bind Scripps to numerous community organizations in the San Angelo area.

Aguilar arrived in San Angelo in 2004, after spending four years as the advertising director at the company's Record Searchlight in Redding, Calif.
Prior to Scripps, he was the display advertising manager for the San Antonio (Texas) Express-News from 1999 to 2000. He also served as advertising director for the Californian in Salinas, Calif., from 1995 to 1999, and as retail advertising manager for the San Bernardino County (Calif.) Sun from 1991 to 1995.
Other newspaper management positions include director of advertising for the Camarillo (Calif.) Daily News and the Tahoe Daily Tribune in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., and sales/marketing director for Skagit Valley Publishing Company in Mt. Vernon, Wash.
