|Ingram Micro Cloud to Resell Force.com, Salesforce.com's Social Enterprise Platform for Business Applications|
SANTA ANA, CA, Jun 05, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --The North America Services Division of Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) announced today it has entered into an agreement with salesforce.com to resell Force.com, the social enterprise cloud platform for mobile and social business applications.
Under the new distribution agreement, Ingram Micro channel partners in the U.S. can now purchase salesforce.com's industry-leading Force.com platform directly from Ingram Micro and begin creating and deploying custom applications for the social enterprise immediately. Force.com is the first platform-as-a-service offering available from the Ingram Micro Cloud.
"Empowering our channel partners with the services, solutions and platforms needed to gain a competitive edge in the market and become a trusted advisor to both small and mid-size businesses is a high priority for Ingram Micro's Services Division and our cloud sales team," says Renee Bergeron, vice president of Managed Services and Cloud Computing, Ingram Micro North America.
"Salesforce.com's leading platform for social and mobile business applications will become a key differentiator for Ingram Micro Cloud and our channel partners as we work together to accelerate cloud adoption. As the IT industry's master aggregator of cloud services, Ingram Micro is uniquely positioned to enable innovative market leaders to expand their reach into the channel and build upon their success, while enabling our channel partners to grow their cloud services with in-demand offerings such as platform-as-a-service," concludes Bergeron.
"Force.com is the proven social enterprise platform that empowers companies of all sizes to create social and mobile apps to manage any business process," said Ron Huddleston, senior vice president, Global ISV & Channel Partners, salesforce.com. "Together with Ingram Micro, we are extending the reach of Force.com within the channel to provide the flexibility and scale needed to build social enterprise applications."
Force.com is the trusted social enterprise cloud platform for building custom business apps quickly and easily. With Force.com, channel partners and companies can build custom social, mobile and real-time apps that extend to every department and employee without having to spend more on complex software or hardware infrastructure. For maximum flexibility and choice, Force.com offers both a declarative programming model for business users -- which provides visual tools for rapidly build apps without code -- and a programmatic interface for developers to write custom business logic in the cloud.
News of the expanded Ingram Micro, salesforce.com alliance was announced by Bergeron and Huddleston earlier today at the 2012 Ingram Micro Cloud Summit, which is taking place June 4 - 6 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
