Technology Distributor Education and Training Summit Empowers Channel Partners Focused on Federal IT Market With Business-Building Resources and Industry Insights
SANTA ANA, CA, Jun 18, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) today announced its first Public
Sector Federal Summit taking place June 20 - 21 in Vienna, Va.
Tailored to the business and technology interests of Ingram Micro's
growing community of public sector channel partners, this two-day
event marks the IT channel's first and only distribution event
targeted specifically at the federal IT marketplace.
"Despite the current budget challenges, the federal market continues
to represent a great opportunity for Ingram Micro's federal-focused
channel partners," says Michael Humke, executive director,
Healthcare, Public Sector and Vertical Markets, Ingram Micro U.S.
"The federal market has evolved and is looking beyond low-cost
hardware purchases to real business solutions that will help them
drive change and reach their goals."
"Recognized as a business enabler for the IT industry, one of our top
priorities at Ingram Micro's 2012 Public Sector Federal Summit is to
discuss not only where these opportunities lie within the federal
market, but have our partners walk away with the resources and the
knowledge needed to develop these opportunities and help them become
a more valued resource to their customers," continues Humke. "We are
here to help our channel partners identify and leverage the right
solutions and mix of technology so they can help their customers save
money and maximize their return when it comes to investing in IT
innovation."
To help channel partners gain and maintain a competitive edge, Ingram
Micro has stacked the Summit agenda with executive insights,
peer-to-peer discussion tracks; and panels focused on best practices,
key market trends and technologies impacting the federal market.
Throughout the Summit, select council members from Ingram Micro's new
Public Sector Elite partner community will take main stage to share
their experiences and market insights with attendees, as well as
guest speakers Laura Posey, chief instigator, Dancing Elephants;
Brian Haney, senior vice president, Member Services, Deltek; Mark
Amtower, senior consulting partner, Amtower & Company, and director,
Government Market Master Program, Capitol College; and Al Marshall,
contract holder relationship manager, NASA SEWP; as well as David
Gallacher and Franklin Turner, associates, Sheppard Mullin Richter &
Hampton LLP.
Additionally, Ingram Micro has secured several executive keynotes
from high-profile, public-sector vendors including Cisco, Citrix
Systems, HP, Motorola and Symantec. The Summit will conclude with a
networking, charity mixer dedicated to supporting the National Center
for Missing & Exploited Children.
"Ingram Micro is bringing together a number of the federal IT
market's best and brightest minds to enable and inspire our channel
partners to simplify success and capitalize on the market opportunity
at hand by leveraging the growing number of business-building
resources and support services available to them from Ingram Micro
and our vendors," says John Fago, senior director, Channel Marketing,
Ingram Micro North America.
Activity from Ingram Micro's 2012 Public Sector Federal Summit will
be featured on the distributor's Public Sector Facebook page and
