Brown-Forman Corporation was founded in 1870 by George Garvin Brown, a young pharmaceuticals salesman in Louisville, Kentucky, who had the then-novel idea of selling top-grade whiskey in sealed glass bottles. Out of his idea grew a company that in fiscal 2012 had sales of $3.6 billion in wine and spirits.
For 140 years, Brown-Forman Corporation has enriched the experience of life by responsibly building fine quality beverage alcohol brands, including Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Southern Comfort, Finlandia, Jack Daniel’s & Cola, Canadian Mist, Korbel, Gentleman Jack, el Jimador, Herradura, Sonoma-Cutrer, Chambord, New Mix, Tuaca, and Woodford Reserve. Brown-Forman’s brands are supported by around 4,000 employees and sold in approximately 135 countries worldwide.
