SEMCO ENERGY, Inc. Names Mark T. Prendeville Corporation Counsel

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., April 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SEMCO ENERGY, Inc. (NYSE: SEN) today announced the appointment of Mark T. Prendeville as Vice President and Corporation General Counsel. He replaces Arnold R. (Bud) Madigan, who is retiring from SEMCO ENERGY April 30.

Prendeville joined SEMCO ENERGY in 2000 as Manager of Labor and Employee Relations for SEMCO ENERGY GAS COMPANY, and is now the Corporation Labor and Employment Counsel. SEMCO ENERGY GAS COMPANY is the Company's natural gas distribution division in Michigan. Prior to joining SEMCO ENERGY, he was General Counsel for an automotive supplier.

Marcus Jackson, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of SEMCO ENERGY, Inc., made the announcement.

Prendeville has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University and earned his Law degree from Michigan State University - Detroit College of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the American Corporate Counsel Association.
