SEMCO ENERGY Appoints Interim Chief Operating Officer For Its Construction Services Business

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., March 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SEMCO ENERGY, Inc. (NYSE: SEN) today announced the appointment of Robert J. Good to Interim Chief Operating Officer of the company's Construction Services business. Good will continue in his current capacity as President of Atlanta- based Flint Construction Company, which comprises the Southern Division of the business unit. He will assume responsibility for the operations of the Northern Division, headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan and the Midwestern Division, headquartered in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

"Maximizing the profitability of this business segment depends on at least two key value drivers: the continued implementation of efforts to integrate these geographic units and bringing management expertise to bear on all aspects of operations," said Marcus Jackson, SEMCO ENERGY Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "Bob Good, who has been overseeing our successful Southern Division operation, will advance that process."

Good is a 30-year veteran of the pipeline, design, construction and repair industry. His experience includes project engineering at Public Service Company of Colorado, Western Slope Gas Company, Santa Fe Pipeline Construction Company; and chief engineer and vice president of Flint Construction, which he also owned from 1991 to 1999. Good has a BS in Engineering from Colorado State University.
