Caldwell Resigns SEMCO Post

PORT HURON, Mich., June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert F. Caldwell, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of SEMCO ENERGY, INC. (Nasdaq: SMGS), has resigned. Caldwell has been with SEMCO since 1979.

SEMCO ENERGY said it would name Mr. Caldwell's successor after external candidates are identified. In the interim, SEMCO said, Caldwell's responsibilities will be overseen by Steven Warsinske, Vice President of Accounting. Mr. Warsinske has been with the Company since 1978.

"I'm confident that what I've accomplished, especially in terms of bringing heightened fiscal accountability to the Company and pursuing an aggressive growth strategy, helps position SEMCO ENERGY to take full advantage of opportunities presented by a transforming energy industry," said Caldwell.

Caldwell's resignation takes effect June 30.
