PORT HURON, Mich., April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- SEMCO ENERGY, Inc. (NYSE: SEN)
today announced that Steven W. Warsinske has been named Vice President and
Controller. Sebastian Coppola, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer of SEMCO ENERGY, Inc., made the announcement.

Warsinske, who joined the Company as an accountant in 1978, has been
serving as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of SEMCO ENERGY GAS
COMPANY, the Michigan gas distribution division of SEMCO ENERGY, Inc. His
responsibilities include accounting operations, financial reporting for both
the regulated and diversified businesses of SEMCO ENERGY, Inc., and compliance
with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Michigan Public Service
Commission financial reporting requirements. He also is responsible for the
Company's, state and federal tax filings and returns.
Warsinske, who lives in Marysville with his wife and three children, holds
a Master of Science in Taxation from Walsh College, is a Certified Internal
Auditor and the current President of the Finance and Accounting Committee of
the Michigan Electric and Gas Association.
