SEMCO ENERGY GAS COMPANY Appoints Ebrahim (Abby) Moradian Vice President of Marketing

PORT HURON, Mich., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Ebrahim (Abby) Moradian has been appointed Vice President of Marketing of SEMCO ENERGY GAS COMPANY. Moradian succeeds Robert Stone, who has been named to the new position of President of SEMCO ENERGY VENTURES.

Moradian will report directly to Jon Kosht, President of SEMCO ENERGY GAS COMPANY. "Abby has extensive experience in field operations, marketing, technical engineering, and risk management. His management experience in various areas of the regulated and unregulated energy industry show he has the skills and talent needed to help guide this organization toward our goal of becoming one of the leading gas utilities in the energy industry," Kosht said.

Moradian joined SEMCO ENERGY GAS COMPANY after working more than 20 years at MCN Energy Group holding various management positions in the areas of marketing, operations, engineering services, corporate construction, risk management and exploration and construction.

Since joining the company in December 1998, Moradian held the positions of Manager of Industrial Marketing and Director of Field Services.

Moradian has a Master's of Mechanical Engineering degree which he obtained from Michigan State University.

He is a member of the Engineering Society of Detroit, the Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Institute of Gas Technology, with which he has worked for more than a decade. His other affiliations include the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

He lives with his wife and two children in Washington Township, MI.
