|Free fishing event for disabled vets scheduled for June 27 in Fond du Lac|
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (June 1, 2015) –
The Mercury Marine employees’ military veterans network and the Fond du Lac Chapter of "Fishing Has No Boundaries" are sponsoring a free fishing trip June 27 for veterans who are disabled or have been wounded in combat. The event will take place on Lake Winnebago in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 27. Activities taking place before and after the fishing, such as breakfast, will take place on Oven Island in Fond du Lac’s Lakeside Park.
The event includes free use of a captained boat; free use of fishing gear, including rods, reels, bait and life jackets; and free breakfast and lunch.
7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Fishing trip. Fishing bait for event will be provided for veterans free of charge. Teams will be able to pick up bait before and during event.
1 to 3 p.m. Afternoon fishing. Pavilions close at 3 p.m., but veterans and volunteers are welcome to stay as long as they wish.
