FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jul. 9, 2009--
Staples, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS) today announced the appointment of Amee
Chande as senior vice president of strategy, responsible for
working with senior management to develop all elements of the company’s
global strategy. Chande reports to John Mahoney, Staples vice chairman
and chief financial officer.
“Amee brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Staples,” said
Mahoney. “With her proven leadership skills, Amee will work closely with
teams across Staples to build on our company-wide strategic plans.”
Chande joins Staples from Wal-Mart Stores where she served most recently
as vice president of new business development and previously as vice
president of healthcare strategy and communications. Prior to Wal-Mart,
she was a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company where she worked
with a broad range of retail and consumer goods companies in the US and
internationally. Chande earned graduate degrees from Harvard Business
School and the London School of Economics, and has lived and worked in
Canada, the UK, Zimbabwe and Hong Kong.
