Kathleen Mahoney Named Industry Leader by Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal

MINNEAPOLIS, May 13, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Nash-Finch Company (Nasdaq: NAFC), a Minneapolis-based food distributor, announced today that Kathleen Mahoney, Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, was named one of 25 Industry Leaders by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal at the Women in Business Awards Luncheon on May 12, 2011.

The Industry Leader award honors professional women who are recognized as accomplished leaders in their respective industries. The winners are applauded for their track record of success and their involvement in the community. Honorees were selected by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal's editors from hundreds of nominations.

Kathy serves as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Nash Finch, a role she has held since November 2009. She most recently served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary beginning in July 2006. She joined the Company in 2004 as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel. Prior to working at Nash Finch, Kathy was the Managing Partner in the St. Paul Office of Larson King, LLP. She also spent 13 years with the law firm of Oppenheimer, Wolff & Donnelly, LLP. Kathy also worked as Special Assistant Attorney General in the Minnesota Attorney General's Office for six years. Kathy earned her JD degree from Syracuse University College of Law, cum laude, and a BA from Keene State College. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Minnesota State, Wisconsin State and Ramsey County Bar Associations. Kathy is Secretary of the Minnesota Board of Law Examiners, as well as Chairwoman of the Minnesota Board of Law Examiners Rules Committee, and former Minnesota Bar Exam Committee Chairwoman. She also serves as a director on the board of the NFC Foundation, Nash Finch's charitable giving organization.
