The Legacy Of Founder Bill Rouse Lives On Through Day Of Caring Program

BOCA RATON, FL – June 24, 2010 – On Friday, June 18, Liberty Property Trust employees from the South Florida regional office traded in their suits and Blackberrys for t-shirts, hair nets and pairing knives to participate in the 7th annual Bill Rouse Day of Caring. Liberty closed its 20+ offices for a full day so that teams of employees could work on community service projects in memory of the company’s founder, Willard G. Rouse III.

Bill Rouse was as committed to community service and involvement as he was to real estate development. When he passed away in 2003, Liberty employees sought a way to honor his memory and launched the annual Bill Rouse Day of Caring. It is traditionally held on the Friday before his birthday, each year.

To honor his memory the South Florida team partnered with The Cooperative Feeding Program. They helped to serve food and work in the Pantry.

The Cooperative Feeding Program provides counseling and support to families in need. Through its diverse family center, the non-profit organization offers those in need hope, contact with community-wide services, and emotional support. For more information please visit
