AT ITS ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, LIBERTY PROPERTY TRUST’S
MARKET AT COMCAST CENTER REACHES 97% OCCUPANCY
Omega Optical opens, leaving just retail two locations available
PHILADELPHIA, PA – June 15, 2009 – Liberty Property Trust’s Market and Shops at Comcast Center will reach its one year anniversary this month with 97% occupancy and a tenant list that includes some of Philadelphia’s most iconic brands. With recent LEED® Core & Shell Gold certification, average monthly foot traffic exceeding 25,000 people, and a stop on the Philadelphia Phlash, it has become an important destination for both commuters and tourists.
The oblong concourse is divided into two areas: The Shops, offering upscale retail stores, and The Market, featuring gourmet sit-down and take-out food options. Recent agreements with Omega Optical and Sony Style Comcast Labs have left just two retail spaces (each about 550 square feet in size) available for lease.
“Particularly in regard to these challenging economic times, we have been pleased by the commitments made by our newest tenants,” said John Gattuso, senior vice president of urban and national development, Liberty Property Trust. “The Market and Shops at Comcast Center has set a new standard of quality on the Suburban Station concourse. Over the course of the next year Liberty will continue to cultivate and grow the clientele that will help continue to make the Market a favorite Philadelphia destination.”
Open Monday through Friday (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) for commuters, the Market and Shops at Comcast Center recently added Saturday hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) geared toward the needs of the community. A schedule of Saturday special events such as wine tastings and art shows is being launched this summer. (More information can be found at www.themarketatcomcastcenter.com.)
