First of five warehouse buildings now complete and open with 126,000 square feet of space now available
CHARLOTTE, NC - March 18, 2008 - Liberty Property Trust (NYSE:LRY), which owns and manages more than five million square feet of office and industrial space in the Carolinas, celebrated the opening of 125 Caliber Drive at a reception earlier this month.
The new building, which is designed to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification, is the first of five flex buildings planned for Liberty's new Caliber Ridge Industrial Park in Greer, South Carolina. When completed in the next three-to-five years, the park will provide up to 800,000 square feet of warehouse, distribution and light manufacturing space. Liberty anticipates that the additional four buildings will also be designed to achieve LEED certification.
"There is tremendous opportunity for growth Upstate," said Bogue Wallin, vice president and city manager, Liberty Property Trust. "Our goal is to provide companies that are either seeking to come here specifically, or looking for industrial space in general, with Class A warehouse and distribution space options that will bring jobs and income to the region."
At the reception, which was attended by community leaders, brokers and industry representatives, Wallin introduced the project with a video presentation. He then presented awards to key contributors to the project, including: Greer Mayor Rick Danner; H. Jerry Balding, Commission of Public Works; Craig Dishner, Dishner Moore Architects; Wayne Russom, Shelco, Inc.; Tom Keith, Arbor Engineering; and CMC Cary Engineering.
Caliber Ridge Industrial Park is located at I-85 and Highway 101, opposite the entrance to the BMW manufacturing plant. It offers tenants the flexibility of single and multi-tenant buildings, with spaces from 18,000 to 800,000 square feet.
