New York, NY, September 11, 2003 – September 15th marks the premiere of
Martha Stewart Living's (MSLTV) 11th season, which kicks off with a week
celebrating quick, easy and delicious recipes from the new Everyday Food
magazine. During Season 11, MSLTV criss-crosses North America – from the
Hudson Valley through the Heartland to Sonoma, CA, Alaska and British
Columbia – discovering the ethnic and regional diversity found in the great
cuisines, arts, crafts and traditions across the continent. This fall, tune
in for special “parents and kids” episodes, tasty comfort food, new “back
to basics” checklists and Cupcake of the Month segments, lots of chances to
win with Watch and Win Sweepstakes, and much more of MSLTV's award-winning
“how-to” content for the home.
This season's inspiring new programming includes:
- Decorator's Week (September 22-26). With a host of visiting
decorators and a new window treatment idea every day, MSLTV is full of fall
home transformations. Tune in for a striking “before and after” Martha
Stewart Living room makeover for the Edmund, Oklahoma, couple who won last
season's “good things” Come To Those Who Watch sweepstakes.
- Melting Pot Week (November 3-7) celebrating the diversity of America.
Featuring ethnic cuisine in America, including Indian, Italian, Mexican,
and African dishes,
- America's Week (November 10-14), including a trip to Sonoma where
Martha celebrates Thanksgiving with Maria Gallo, and a trip to the Midwest
for a Heartland Show featuring giant truck-stop cinnamon buns and a visit
to the Frankoma Pottery Factory.
- Visits from top chefs and cookbook authors such as Daniel Boulud,
Marcus Samuelson, Paul Bertolli, Madhur Jaffrey, and Diana Kennedy.
- Travels to unusual and surprising destinations, from Reford Gardens
in Seattle to a Shaker Village in Kentucky and underwater logging in
British Columbia.
- A brand new “Pirate-Themed” set at the MSLTV studios is the backdrop
for a month-long celebration of Halloween. All sorts of spooky Halloween
inspiration – Spicy Bat Wings, Eye Popping Tomato Soup, Spooky Plants,
petkeeping expert Marc Morrone as “Dr. Evil” with his Bats, Rats and
Hairless Cats, and more – will be revealed on new Frightful Fridays, every
week in October.
- Special programs for parents and kids, airing just when you need
them: school holidays. Tune in on Columbus Day (October 13) for a “parents
and kids” special episode, featuring fun fall activities such as a visit to
a baseball exhibit, a tasty recipe – perfect for the Little League team –
