For Second Year in a Row, Everyday Food Magazine Named #1 on 'Top 10 Under 50' List in Adweek's Annual 'Hot List' Issue

MSLO Cooking Publication Cited for “whipping up delicious ad gains”

NEW YORK, March 5, 2007 / PRNewswire-FirstCall/ For the second consecutive year, Everyday Food, the easy-to-use, digest-size cooking magazine published by Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, was named #1 on the "Top 10 Under 50" List. The list honors the top magazines with under $50 million in annual revenues and appears in Adweek's annual "Hot List" issue, on newsstands now.

Everyday Food boasts year-over-year ad page growth of 40% in 2006, compared to 2005. Over the three-year period from 2004-2006, ad pages grew 83%. EDF's rate base increased to 875,000 in 2007, up 3% year-over-year and up 75% over the past three years. MSLO reported that Everyday Food achieved profitability in 2006, a year ahead of schedule.

"To be named to this prestigious list two consecutive years is a testament to the magazine's continuing success in the marketplace and its growing appeal among consumers," said Lauren Stanich, President of Publishing of MSLO. "Everyday Food Publisher Anne Balaban and her team have skillfully built on last year's considerable accomplishments while helping to deliver the magazine to early profitability. This is a great feat and we are encouraged by the magazine's prospects across many platforms."

Stated Martha Stewart, MSLO Founder: "Everyday Food's editorial and design teams, led by Editor Sandra Gluck, Executive Director Debra Puchalla and Art Director Alberto Capolino, work thoughtfully to ensure every issue is filled with delicious, healthy and easy-to-prepare recipes in a smart, beautifully designed magazine. The quality and practicality of this uniquely sized magazine makes it appealing to a broad spectrum of cooks as well as to advertisers.”

In naming the magazine #1 in its category, Adweek noted, “Consumers and advertisers alike favor its recipe for simple meals in a small package. Ad execs call it ‘terrific.'”

“Everyday Food has indeed struck a strong cord with women nationwide. Our readers eagerly await the arrival of every issue because it provides simple solutions for the everyday dilemma of what to eat. Our portable format, featuring a photograph with every recipe and clear instructions that call for ingredients that can be found in the local supermarket, makes Everyday Food the resource for easy and stress-free good cooking," said Everyday Food Publisher and Senior Vice President Anne Balaban.

Success on Many Platforms

Launched initially as a magazine in 2003, Everyday Food is also a very successful and profitable television show on PBS, now in its third season. This month, Everyday Food will release its first cookbook entitled “Great Food Fast” in bookstores nationwide. Everyday Food content is the entry point for a significant number of visitors to our marthastewart.com website each month. In addition, Everyday Food broadcasts programming on Martha Stewart Living Radio on SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Channel 112, featuring two dedicated, hour-long shows per week hosted by Editor Sandy Gluck, an hour-long tips-and-techniques program once a week with Deputy Food Editor Allie Lewis, and a series of quick segments, “Everyday Dinners with Allie,” which airs twice daily in the afternoon.

Everyday Food hosts a series of grassroots programs and events annually that bring the magazine to life for consumers nationwide in partnership with top advertisers. Our “Savor Every Moment” program introduces recipes and ingredients to shoppers in two large grocery chains annually; our partnership with meal-assembly phenomenon Super Suppers will result in our recipes being showcased, along with sponsoring advertisers' product, in over 200 locations in June 2007.
