Bluelines, Daily Blog Launches with Third Issue on Newsstands Today
NEW YORK, March 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- With its third issue,
Blueprint: Design Your Life, the newest lifestyle magazine from the creators
of Martha Stewart Living, is introducing Bluelines, a daily blog today. In
our need-to-know-it-now age, this blog is an immediate and essential extension
of the new, bimonthly periodical, Blueprint. Bluelines features fun finds,
favorite sources, inspiring ideas, and clever shortcuts for women ages 25-39
who are interested in creating and refining their own personal style. The
Blueprint blog is part of the launch of the blueprintmag.com website, which
links to marthastewart.com.
"Bluelines adds another exciting dimension to Blueprint. Readers are
constantly looking for new ideas and the Blueprint editors are thrilled to
share their latest and greatest discoveries with them on a daily basis -- from
our favorite online handyman who will tell you how to fix anything to the new
oversized tote the entire fashion department is ordering. Now our readers can
enjoy an instant fix online along with the sumptuous, in-depth experience they
get when reading the magazine," said Blueprint Editor-in-Chief Sarah
Humphreys.
Since its launch last year, Blueprint has made a splash. Circulation is
up 40 percent to 350,000 from last year's two test launch issues and is
expected to jump again to 400,000 in the second half of 2007. Six issues are
planned for 2007. The Society of Publication Designers recently honored
Blueprint with four nominations in three different categories in the group's
42nd Annual Magazine Design Competition; the winners will be announced in May.
Media Industry Newsletter named the magazine one of the hottest launches of
the year in 2006.
The magazine also appeals to advertisers who are eager to reach this
desirable demographic and the third issue reflects that, showcasing a wide
range of advertising categories, including home, fashion, entertaining,
beauty, and food and beverage.
"Blueprint enables advertisers to reach these younger women with wit and
imagination, online and in print. We are developing a new launch model as
this visually compelling magazine expands to connect with readers personally
through daily blogging and the new blueprintmag.com website," stated Amy
Wilkins, SVP, Publisher.
The March issue is chockablock with fresh and inspiring ideas, including a
makeover of Humphreys' own 300-square-foot apartment in New York City's West
Village. "I'll admit I was a bit apprehensive about opening up my tiny home
to prying eyes, but the makeover was so transformative that I'm thrilled I
did," said Ms. Humphreys. "Not only because I now have a beautiful, almost-
roomy apartment, but because the solutions in this story are so smart and
solid. A reader's small quarters will feel more spacious even if she steals
just one idea."
The issue also reveals where budget-conscious fashionistas can shop for
accessories: the hardware store! Fashion editor Katie Hatch shows how to
create charming bracelets, necklaces and belts out of chains in the "The
Chicest Link." Readers will also learn how to throw a fabulous dinner party
with Blueprint's simple, step-by-step strategy in "Best Laid (Dinner) Plans."
Those wondering what to serve with that delicious meal can turn to a special
pullout handbook on essential home bar basics, featuring tips on barware and
classic cocktail recipes.
