Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. Names Howard Hochhauser Chief Financial Officer and Holly Brown President of Internet

NEW YORK, July 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. (NYSE: MSO) today announced two appointments, solidifying the executive-level tier as the company continues to strategically expand its business. Howard Hochhauser has been named Chief Financial Officer. Holly Brown assumes the title of President of the company's Internet business segment.

As CFO, Mr. Hochhauser will play a pivotal role in determining MSLO's business strategy and capital allocation process. He will have oversight responsibility for key administrative functions, including investor relations, corporate communications and facilities. He has been filling this role since becoming Acting CFO in March of this year. Mr. Hochhauser reports to MSLO President and Chief Executive Officer Susan Lyne.

In announcing the new appointments, Susan Lyne, President and Chief Executive Officer of MSLO, stated, "Howard is already a familiar and very valuable presence at MSLO. He brings to the job a depth of knowledge, a keen understanding of the company and a strategic mindset that are tremendous assets to our business. We know he will continue his tenure with the thoughtful intelligence, attention to detail and collaborative spirit that his colleagues have come to expect from him."

Mr. Hochhauser joined MSLO in May 2000. Prior to becoming Acting CFO, he served as the company's Vice President, Finance and Investor Relations, beginning in March 2002, overseeing MSLO's financial planning and budgeting as well as investor relations initiatives, and acting as the primary contact for the company within the investment community. From 1996-2000, Mr. Hochhauser was at Bear, Stearns & Co. in the equity research department where he most recently served as Vice President. Previously, he worked at Credit Suisse First Boston and KPMG Peat Marwick.

Mr. Hochhauser, a certified public accountant, has a master's degree in business administration from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Boston University. He and his wife, Cindy, live in New York City with their daughter.

As President of the company's Internet business, Ms. Brown is charged with developing the internet strategy and overseeing all business and operations relating to the marthastewart.com website and the digital distribution of the company's asset library. She has been working as a consultant at MSLO since October 2005. She reports to Ms. Lyne.

Before joining MSLO, Ms. Brown worked at Yahoo! where she held various positions of increasing responsibility from 1999 to 2005, most recently as Chief of Staff for Chief Operating Officer Dan Rosensweig. Prior to that, she held business and general management positions in Yahoo! Finance, helping to build and develop the content property. Previously, she worked as an investment banker in mergers and acquisitions at Montgomery Securities and JP Morgan.

Ms. Brown received her master's degree in business administration from the Wharton School and a bachelor's degree in economics from Vanderbilt University. She lives in Summit, New Jersey, with her husband and two children.
