NEW YORK, September 9, 2010—On Monday, September 13th at 10 AM ET/9 AM CT, daytime's favorite domestic diva, Martha Stewart, will make her cable debut when the Emmy® Award-winning series ‘The Martha Stewart Show’ makes the move to its new exclusive home on Hallmark Channel. Joining Martha in-studio to celebrate the sixth season premiere are the newest additions to cable network's lifestyle line-up: Martha’s own daughter Alexis Stewart and Jennifer Koppelman Hutt, hosts of ‘Whatever with Alexis & Jennifer,’ (airing 11 am ET); best-selling author, food editor and mother of three, Lucinda Scala Quinn, host of ‘Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn’ (airing 12 PM ET); Sarah Carey and John Barricelli, hosts of “Everyday Food” (airing 12:30 pm ET) and pet expert Marc Morrone who will be joining Hallmark Channel’s schedule in January 2011.
And on Wednesday, September 15th, Martha will introduce “Date Night With Jim and Brendan,” a new recurring segment featuring MTV News correspondent, Jim Cantiello and MTV contributing news correspondent and producer Brendan Kennedy. A new twist on Martha’s love of culinary exploration, Martha and this quirky duo will give viewers an insider’s look at New York’s hippest bars and restaurants. Commenting on the segment, Martha Stewart says: “Brendan and Jim are such an entertaining addition to the show. They take me to their kinds of places and I take them to my kinds of places. And it is a total education for all of us. And they're very funny, fun dates.” In this first installment, Jim and Brendan escort Martha to Williamsburg, Brooklyn for a visit to Dram, a hip new cocktail lounge, and then the threesome grab a bite to eat across the street at eatery Pies ‘n’ Thighs.
Throughout the month, Martha will be joined by A-list celebrities, culinary icons and fashion world luminaries, both widely known and newly discovered. Upcoming guests include: film actor Justin Long (9/16); Jack Goes Boating stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Ryan, John Ortiz and Daphne Rubin-Vega (9/17); actor Victor Garber (9/21); actress and author Tori Spelling (9/23); actress Katherine Heigl (9/30); and SNL star Seth Meyers (9/28); Food icons Lidia Bastianich and chef Mario Batali (9/14) take Martha on a tour of their newest culinary destination, Eataly; ABC Kitchen’s chef Dan Kluger (9/15); Maialino’s chef Nick Anderer (9/27); and Ca Va chef Todd English (9/29); and from the world of fashion, W Magazine’s Editor In Chief Stefano Tonchi (9/14); designer Ralph Rucci (9/20) and designer Carolina Herrera (9/30). And continuing a focus on the runway and in anticipation of the debut of her September 19th primetime interview special, ‘Martha Stewart Presents: The Women Who Dress America,’ Martha will talk about the featured designers with the studio audience, some of whom will be wearing the designers’ clothes, beginning with Donna Karan (9/14), Tory Burch (9/15), J. Crew’s Jenna Lyons (9/16) and culminating with the incomparable fashions of Diane Von Furstenberg (9/17). Plus on September 17th, Executive Editorial Director of Decorating Kevin Sharkey’ discusses the year-long renovation of his New York City apartment, offering his top decorating tips and unveiling the finished product to Martha’s viewers.
Theme shows this season include: the Consignment Show (9/20), putting a spotlight on the best designer fashions on a budget; the Teacher Show (9/22) featuring educators whose specialties include baking, crafting and gardening; a special two-part special on Martha’s visit to Turkey (9/24 & 10/1) where Martha will transport viewers to the one of the world’s fastest growing tourist destinations; the Slumber Party Show (10/7) in which audience members and Martha herself will don their favorite sleepwear; and the Singapore Show (10/8) highlighting Martha’s trip to one of the most influential cities in the world. And beginning September 27th, Martha will “scare up” some of her favorite how-to tips as part of Halloween Crafts Week, a weeklong series dedicated to the celebration of Martha’s favorite holiday.
