Clarkson Potter/Publishers and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Announce 10-Book Collaboration Over Five Years

Deal Marks 25 Years of Publishing History Between the Companies

New York, July 24, 2007 – Clarkson Potter/Publishers, the leading lifestyle and cookbook publisher, announced today, a 10-book deal that will extend their collaboration with Martha Stewart and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. Clarkson Potter has published 57 Martha Stewart and Martha Stewart Living books since 1982, with more than 16 million copies currently in print.

“Martha Stewart is unparalleled for her creativity, aesthetic, and vision in the lifestyle and cooking genres. Not only has nearly every title become a bestseller, but each one has also remained in print as a lasting, high-quality legacy. We are thrilled to extend our partnership and honored to continue to bring her ideas into the book marketplace," says Lauren Shakely, Senior Vice President and Publisher of Clarkson Potter/Publishers, Potter Craft, and Potter Style.

First in the line of books to be published over a five-year period are The Martha Stewart Living Cookbook: The Original Classics and The Martha Stewart Living Cookbook: The New Classics. These compendiums, which will be published in September and October 2007, a major step in Martha's mission to keep home-cooking traditions alive, compile the top 3,300 recipes from the last 15 years of MSLO's flagship publication Martha Stewart Living.

“I'm delighted to be continuing my work with Clarkson Potter, which has been my book-publishing home since 1982. I am so pleased that this 10-book collaboration will debut with classic recipes from the pages of Martha Stewart Living. I have been cooking nearly all my life and understand the value of the clearly written, carefully tested, and unique recipes that home cooks will take pleasure in preparing with great results,” says Martha Stewart, Founder of MSLO.

Clarkson Potter, an imprint of Random House, Inc.'s Crown Publishing Group, and Martha Stewart have been publishing bestsellers together for 25 years, beginning with the landmark lifestyle and cooking book, Entertaining. Most recently, Clarkson Potter and MSLO have enjoyed the bestselling success of Martha Stewart's Baking Handbook (2005), which spent four weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, Martha Stewart's Homekeeping Handbook (2006), which spent 10 weeks on the list and currently has 200,000 copies in print, and Everyday Food: Great Food Fast, which spent five weeks on the list, including two weeks at #1. Other notables include Martha Stewart's Hors d'Oeuvres Handbook, Martha Stewart's Pies and Tarts, Martha Stewart's New Old House, and Martha Stewart Weddings.

Jenny Frost, President and Publisher, The Crown Publishing Group, says, "Clarkson Potter/Crown is delighted to continue our longstanding and extremely successful publishing work with Martha Stewart and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.
