Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Taps Two Executives For New Roles

Gael Towey Becomes Chief Integration and Creative Director, Will Drive Integration of MSLO’s Brand Properties Across Platforms

Kerry Tucker Appointed as Senior Vice President, Partner Marketing, Will Oversee Marketing Strategies for Brand/Advertiser and Retail Partners

NEW YORK, NY, February 23, 2012— Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. (NYSE: MSO; www.marthastewart.com) has appointed two executives to newly created positions. Gael Towey is assuming a new role as Chief Integration and Creative Director. Kerry Tucker, who most recently was Vice President, Ad Sales Marketing, has been appointed Senior Vice President of Partner Marketing. Both Towey and Tucker will report to MSLO President and COO Lisa Gersh.

After overseeing MSLO’s design and creative teams as Chief Creative and Editorial Director, where she guided MSLOs trademark lifestyle book and magazine content, Ms. Towey will now be charged with ensuring that all of the digital manifestations of MSLO’s brands are imbued with the highest quality, across all platforms and in all contexts.

Ms. Tucker will oversee marketing for the company’s two key revenue streams – Ad Sales Marketing and also Merchandising Marketing. She will work across MSLO’s unique combination of media properties and retail businesses to enhance MSLO’s brand footprint and boost its partners’ businesses.

Gael Towey Biography

As Chief Innovation and Creative Director for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Gael Towey is focused on the development of the company’s brands and consumer experience across multiple media and retail platforms, primarily its digital magazines and mobile and tablet Apps.

Towey drove the launch of “Boundless Beauty,” a special issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine created for the iPad, which was recognized with multiple awards and sales milestones. That success set the standard for the monthly digital publications of Martha Stewart Living and Everyday Food magazines, as well as recipe Apps the company created with Callaway Digital Arts, including “Martha Stewart Cookies.” In 2012, iMonitor gave MSLO its top industry ratings in the magazine App category.

Prior to this role, Towey oversaw the design and creative teams at MSLO since the company’s inception, helping to spearhead the launch of multiple magazine titles, including Living, Weddings, Everyday Food, and Whole Living, as well as a thriving book business. During her tenure, MSLO became known for the innovation, originality and design excellence that are hallmarks of the Martha Stewart brand in both its media and merchandising businesses. Towey has managed product development, marketing and packaging design across many MSLO initiatives.

With Towey’s creative direction, MSLO has won numerous awards including the industry’s most prestigious American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) Awards for Design, Photography and General Excellence. Towey has also helped MSLO earn numerous honors, including the AIGA Corporate Leadership Award, Adweek’s “Executive Team of the Year” in 2006 for Martha Stewart Living, and The Art Directors Club’s Vision Award for long-term commitment to good design and its impact on our culture.

Before joining MSLO, Towey was the design director for House and Garden magazine. Previously, she was the first art director for Clarkson N. Potter Publishers; she got her start as a junior designer for Studio Books, Viking Press.

Kerry Tucker Biography

As Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia’s Senior Vice President for Partner Marketing, Kerry Tucker and her team create opportunities for business partners to leverage MSLO’s unique and winning combination of media properties and its significant retail footprint to make stronger connections with consumers. Tucker is an experienced marketing executive who joined MSLO’s publishing team in 2010. Until recently, she was MSLO’s Vice President, Integrated Marketing, where she oversaw sales development, creative services, research, events and cross platform opportunities for MSLO’s advertising partners. She also led marketing and media efforts in MSLO’s media properties for MSLO retail partners including The Home Depot, Macy’s, PetSmart, Michaels and Staples.

Prior to MSLO, Ms. Tucker held senior integrated marketing and sales positions for top media organizations and trade groups, including as Vice President, Strategic Sales for CBS Radio and as Senior Vice President, National Advertising for the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB). During her tenure at RAB, Radio Ink named Tucker one of its “Women to Watch.” She was also Director of Sales and Marketing for the Audit Bureau of Circulations and began her career with marketing and sales roles at The Golfer/The Sporting Life Magazines.
