FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 21, 2018-- MEDNAX, Inc. (NYSE:MD) and MEDNAX Radiology Solutions, one of the nation’s largest radiology practices, which includes vRad (Virtual Radiologic) and leading radiology practices based in Tennessee (Radiology Alliance and Associates in Diagnostic Radiology), Florida (Radiology Associates of South Florida), Connecticut (Jefferson Radiology), Texas (Synergy Radiology Associates) and Nevada (Radiology Specialists), will exhibit at the Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA) 2018 Annual Meeting from Nov. 25-29 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Practice leadership will be on-site at Booth #7938 (North Hall) to discuss partnership opportunities, and a physician engagement team will be on-site at Booth #4273 (South Hall) to discuss ground- and cloud-based radiologist career opportunities.

MEDNAX Radiology Solutions will launch two new innovative programs – the “MEDNAX Radiology Artificial Intelligence Incubator” (MDR-AI) and “MEDNAX Radiology Centers of Excellence.” The AI Incubator program will bring together radiologists, a rich and diverse clinical dataset, and a growing ecosystem of partners to build future tools for radiology with the primary goal of improving patient care. Through a strong partnership between clinical and technical leadership as well as a key group of external partners with shared goals, the program will improve the overall quality of patient care by increasing radiologist’s accuracy and efficiency, ultimately impacting patient outcomes.

The MEDNAX Radiology Centers of Excellence program will initially be launched with cardiac imaging and will subsequently expand nationally, including other subspecialties. The Cardiac Imaging Center of Excellence will be based in Miami and led by Ricardo Cury, M.D., Chief Medical Officer of MEDNAX Radiology Solutions. It will offer dedicated clinical pathways, dedicated protocols – CCTA, technologist training, 3D post-processing, physician training and expertise, structured reporting, and correlation with patient outcomes. The program will provide greater added value to hospital partners and patients alike, including continuous access to radiologist subspecialty expertise, world-class information technology and quality metrics for patient safety.

In addition, radiologists are invited to join vRad’s Chief Medical Officer, Benjamin Strong, M.D., for interactive in-booth demonstrations showcasing first-hand why radiologists prefer reading on MEDNAX Radiology Solutions’ patented technology platform. Dr. Strong will demonstrate MEDNAX Radiology Solutions’ highly customized and strategic approach to voice recognition, as well as the utilization of AI/Natural Language Processing in report creation.
