Lowe's Companies, Inc. Prices $1 Billion Notes Offering

MOORESVILLE, N.C., Oct. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW) announced today that it has agreed to sell $550 million of 5.40% Notes due 2016 and $450 million of 5.80% Notes due 2036. The net proceeds of the notes offering will be used for general corporate purposes, including capital expenditures and working capital needs, and to finance repurchases of Lowe's common stock. Closing is expected to occur on October 10, 2006.


Merrill Lynch & Co., Banc of America Securities LLC and Wachovia Securities are acting as joint book-running managers for the notes offering.
