Lowe's Companies, Inc. Prices $1.0 Billion Notes Offering

MOORESVILLE, N.C., Apr 12, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW) announced today that it has agreed to sell $500 million of 4.625% Notes due 2020 and $500 million of 5.80% Notes due 2040. The company estimates that the net proceeds from this offering will be approximately $990.7 million, after deducting estimated offering expenses and the underwriters' discounts. Lowe's plans to use $500 million of the net proceeds from the sale of the notes to repay its 8.25% Notes due June 1, 2010 at maturity, and to use the balance for general corporate purposes, including capital expenditures and working capital needs, and to fund repurchases of shares of its common stock. Closing is expected to occur on April 15, 2010.
