Bell Microproducts Enterprise Division Announces New Replication Solution for Linux Database Deployments
Leading Storage-Centric Distributor Offers New Solutions Geared Towards SMB and Enterprise Markets With Product From HP and Radiant Data

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 9, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Bell Microproducts Inc. (Nasdaq: BELM), a leading value-added provider of storage products and solutions, today announced a new Replication Solution Recipe Package in partnership with suppliers HP and Radiant Data. The package will be available through the Bell Micro Solution Centers to solution providers selling into the enterprise and SMB markets in North America.

Compelling economics continue to drive the deployment of Linux servers into the SMB and enterprise environments. Linux Databases, such as MySQL, are being deployed as mission-critical to the business.

The solution recipe is built on HP's Integrity & ProLiant BladeSystems and DL server platforms packaged with MSA/EVA storage. HP has a leadership position in the Linux market and HP's BladeSystem products bring new levels of server and storage consolidation with the economies of Linux. These factors made it a desired choice for Bell Micro Solution Architects.

Radiant Data's PeerFS enables high availability in any Linux database environment by continuously replicating data to a secondary node (or multiple nodes) and guarantees consistency of data at all times.

"PeerFS from Radiant Data brings enterprise-class data reliability to any Linux environment," said Robert Peverley, Radiant Data Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "PeerFS uniquely guarantees, not only a consistent copy of data, but access to that data all the time, on any number of nodes, anywhere in the network."

"Replication is a natural requirement for any mission-critical system and we're providing the ingredients of a full solution to our partners. The HP BladeSystem technology is state of the art and an assurance of top quality. Add in Radiant Data's reliability and our solution providers have a solution they will have no problem standing behind," states Gary Gammon, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Storage and Marketing for Bell Microproducts. "Stay tuned for more from our Solution Architects. This is one of a roster of solutions that we are bringing to our resellers to help them build solutions for the SMB market."
