BOULDER, Colo., July 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dynamic Materials Corporation, (Nasdaq: BOOM), "DMC", today reported that the Company's Board of Directors named Bernard Fontana as its new Chairman of the Board at a meeting held on Tuesday, July 1. Mr. Fontana is Executive Vice President of Groupe SNPE and Chairman and CEO of Isochem, Bergerac NC and Nobel Explosifs France, Groupe SNPE subsidiaries engaged in the manufacture of fine chemicals, specialty chemicals and industrial explosives, respectively. A DMC director since June 2000, Mr. Fontana was also the Company's President and CEO from June 2000 to November 2000. Fontana replaces Michel Philippe who resigned as DMC's chairman but will continue to serve as a DMC director. Mr. Philippe left the employment of Groupe SNPE in early June after serving as the Groupe's Senior Vice President of Finance and Legal Affairs since 1990. Groupe SNPE owns a 55% interest in DMC through a U.S. subsidiary, SNPE, Inc.
