retailer Nordstrom (NYSE: JWN) opened the doors to its newest store today at
The Mall at Partridge Creek in Clinton Township, Michigan. The
118,000-square-foot, two-level store is the company's third in the
Detroit-area, joining stores at Somerset Collection in Troy and Twelve Oaks
Mall in Novi. Nordstrom at The Mall at Partridge Creek offers a well-edited
selection of luxury and quality fashion apparel, footwear and accessories for
women, men and children.
"We have an amazing team of people who have been working hard to prepare
for today and can't wait to start taking care of customers," said Emily Paley,
store manager. "We are excited to show shoppers the wonderful mix of fashion
that Nordstrom has to offer."
In addition to a great selection of fashion merchandise, Nordstrom at The
Mall at Partridge Creek features two food offerings; an espresso bar with
outdoor seating and a Cafe Bistro. The store also offers a number of services
to enhance the shopping experience. These amenities include an in-store
alterations and tailor shop, bra and prosthesis fitters, Personal Touch -- a
complimentary wardrobe and shopping service, a women's beauty studio and a
shoe shine stand.
Opening day started at 8:30 a.m. with Nordstrom hosting a tented beauty
bash in its parking lot. Shoppers enjoyed complimentary beauty and skincare
consultations and learned about the latest trends in makeup and fragrance.
When the store opened at 10:00 a.m., customers were welcomed by 300 cheering
employees as they entered the store.
Earlier in the week, Nordstrom held an opening gala that raised $90,000
for partnering charities Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and Henry Ford
Macomb Hospital.
