DALLAS —Feb. 27, 2008—What's fun, convenient, and super easy to book? Southwest Airlines $29 one-way fares! Today, the airline announced that it will now offer $29 fares on nonstop flights in select markets with a 21-day advance purchase. Is this a sale? Is this a joke? Nope, it's just Southwest Airlines doing what is does best, offering Customers low fares.

“ Southwest Airlines tested these $29 one-way fares between Houston Hobby and Austin in 2007 to stimulate traffic and offer Customers the chance to take a quick trip inexpensively, even for the day ,” said Kevin Krone, Southwest Airlines Vice President of Marketing, Sales, and Distribution. “ The response to the fares was impressive, and Southwest is expanding these fares to additional markets to offer Customers a low-fare, hassle-free way to visit a nearby city. ”

  • Between Houston Hobby and Corpus Christi
  • Between Houston Hobby and San Antonio
  • Between Dallas Love Field and Tulsa
  • Between Indianapolis and Chicago Midway
  • Between Birmingham and New Orleans
  • Between Birmingham and Nashville
  • Between Seattle and Spokane
  • Between Boise and Spokane
  • Between Jacksonville and Tampa Bay

All fares are available for purchase today for travel through Aug. 22, 2008, and for travel on nonstop flights only. Fares must be purchased within one day of making reservations and at least 21 days before departure. Fares are available one-way and are combinable with all other fares. When combining fares, all ticketing restrictions apply. Seats are limited. Fares do not include a federal segment tax of $3.50 per takeoff and landing. Fares do not include airport-assessed passenger facility charges (PFC) of $4.50 one-way and U.S. government-imposed September 11 th Security Fee of $2.50 one-way. Fares are valid for nonstop service only. Fares are subject to change until ticketed. Tickets are nonrefundable but may be applied toward the purchase of future travel on Southwest Airlines if unused. Fares are valid only on Southwest-published, scheduled service. Any change in itinerary may result in an increase in fare. Standby travel requires an upgrade to the full unrestricted fare.
