(Nasdaq: KTII) today announced the naming of its Pitman, New Jersey Technical
Center in honor of Leo C. Beebe, who retired as K-Tron's Chairman and CEO on
January 4, 1998. Mr. Beebe remains on the Board of Directors of K-Tron as
Mr. Beebe, who joined K-Tron in 1976 as a member of the Board of
Directors, was instrumental in creating the K-Tron Institute of Feeder
Technology, a hands-on training facility for K-Tron employees and customers,
which was housed in the Technical Center before moving to larger quarters.
The Center features a state-of-the-art performance evaluation laboratory
(which allows K-Tron customers to preview equipment performance and assure
end-product quality), meeting rooms, and a multi-media equipped conference
Mr. Beebe was Chairman from 1985 until his recent retirement and served as
the Company's CEO from 1985 until 1992. He returned as CEO in 1995 when
K-Tron faced some difficult problems, and he led a turnaround that restored
the Company to solid profitability and financial stability.

27 years in various capacities in the United States and foreign countries,
including General Marketing Manager of Ford's Lincoln-Mercury Division, Vice
President of Marketing and Planning and a director of Ford Motor Company of
Canada, and Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Consumer
Products Division and a director of Philco-Ford Corporation. He was also a
Professor of Marketing and subsequently Dean of the School of Business
Administration at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. Among his many
achievements, Mr. Beebe was the first president of the National Alliance of
Business in Washington, D.C. He is currently a member of the Board of
Directors of Reading Is Fundamental, the Chamber of Commerce of Southern New
Jersey, the Coriell Institute for Medical Research, the United Way of
Gloucester County and the Rowan University Foundation, and he also serves on
the Management Institute Advisory Board at Rowan.
