Lamaze Pregnancy and BabySteps Toddler to Fill the Need of
Expectant and New Parents With Summer and Fall Launches
NEW YORK, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on the success of Lamaze Parents,
Lamaze Para Padres and BabySteps -- magazines with a total readership of 17.6
million -- iVillage Parenting Network announced today it will launch Lamaze
Pregnancy in July and BabySteps Toddler in September.
"These two new titles will focus on educating expectant and new parents
with content that is exclusively written by healthcare professionals who help
these parents every day," said Gregg Zegras, Senior Vice President and General
Manager, iVillage Parenting Network, Inc. "With these magazines focusing on
early pregnancy and the toddler years, we now have the preschool parent
covered in print, online and on television, presenting an unparalleled
opportunity for advertisers."
Lamaze Pregnancy is the only Lamaze International-endorsed publication
that provides moms-to-be with the critical information they need during the
early stages of pregnancy. The magazine will show women how to strengthen
their body and mind during the first and second trimesters to have a healthy
pregnancy in preparation for a natural labor and birth. When Lamaze Pregnancy
debuts in July, it will be hand-delivered by ob-gyns to newly pregnant women
at their first prenatal visit. Starting in 2007, the magazine will be
published twice annually with an expected total circulation of one million.
BabySteps Toddler, developed in partnership with the National Association
of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP), will help new parents raise
healthy, happy children by focusing on starting good habits during the toddler
years (ages 1 to 3). When BabySteps Toddler debuts in September, it will be
distributed directly to parents in the pediatric office at their child's one-
year well visit. Starting in 2007, the magazine will be published twice
annually with an expected circulation of one million.
"Each magazine will offer its readers credible, relevant and authoritative
editorial written by those who know it best -- the healthcare professionals,"
said Sally Tusa, Editor-in-Chief of both titles. "By extending the Lamaze and
BabySteps brands, we will go even further in providing parents-to-be and new
parents with the information they want and need."
Currently reaching 95% of new parents, iVillage Parenting Network is a
leading source of prenatal and parental education at this critical life stage.
Extending its brand beyond print, the Newborn Channel, iVillage Parenting
Network's in-hospital television network, is the only targeted source of
educational programming delivered in maternity wards, currently reaching more
than 2.5 million new moms nationwide.
