(U.S.) Government Accountability Office (GAO) has awarded a new year contract
to SkillSoft to provide e-learning content and learning management technology.
This new competitively-awarded contract expands upon the agency's previous
contractual relationship to license SkillSoft's online learning resources and
SkillPort(R), SkillSoft's learning management system. The new contract gives
GAO employees access to SkillSoft's business and IT courseware collections and
simulations, as well as mentoring and test preparation services; SkillSoft's
legal compliance course collection; and the Books24x7BusinessPro(TM),
ITPro(TM), OfficeEssentials(TM) and GovEssentials(TM) Referenceware(R)
collections.
The GAO workforce is comprised of approximately 3,200 highly diverse
professionals including economists, social scientists, engineers, attorneys,
actuaries and computer experts, as well as specialists in areas from health
care to homeland security. Approximately 75 percent of GAO staffers work in
Washington, with the remainder at satellite offices in 11 other U.S. cities.
GAO has been a SkillSoft client since 2003.
