URS-Led Team Selected to Manage Liquid Waste Contract at Savannah River Site

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 8, 2008--URS Corporation (NYSE: URS) today announced that a joint venture led by the Company has been awarded the contract to manage the liquid waste portion of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Savannah River Site, located in Aiken, South Carolina. The performance based, cost-plus award-fee contract has a potential maximum value of approximately $3.3 billion to the joint venture over a six-year base performance period. The contract also includes an additional two-year option.

The URS-led team, Savannah River Remediation, LLC (SRR), was formed by URS' Washington Division, Bechtel National, Inc., CH2M Hill Constructors, Inc. and Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Group, Inc. SRR will be responsible for the closure of waste tanks, the operation of the Savannah River Site's Defense Waste Processing Facility and its associated production and disposal facilities, and tank farm operations.
