McLEAN, Va – (November 4, 2010) – Embassy Suites Hotels is proud to announce the opening of the brand’s newest location, the Embassy Suites San Antonio Riverwalk – Downtown. The hotel, which sits on the historic Riverwalk in central San Antonio, incorporates the brand’s signature water feature, yet with a twist. The water cascades over multiple waterfalls before flowing into the San Antonio River passing under the romantic Paseo del Rio. The new property will include award-winning chef and television personality John Besh’s Franco German-inspired brasserie, Lüke, the chef’s first venture outside of the New Orleans area.
The 285-suite hotel is located directly on the Riverwalk at 125 East Houston Street. It is operated by Dimension Development of Natchitoches, La., the recipient of numerous development awards from Hilton Worldwide, including “2010 Conversion of the Year” for The Roosevelt New Orleans, part of the Waldorf Astoria Collection. The Embassy Suites San Antonio Riverwalk – Downtown is owned by Blanco Rio, LTD, which is a collaboration by IBC BancShares, Sam Friedman, president and CEO of Dimension Development and Jack Guenther, a San Antonio native.
The Embassy Suites San Antonio Riverwalk – Downtown is the third Embassy Suites in the San Antonio area and the 22nd in Texas. The property features a panoramic, multi-story lobby oasis with direct views of the stunning Riverwalk area. This full-service, all-suite property features 11,589sq.-ft. of meeting space equipped to accommodate 900 guests indoors, while outdoor terraces offer an elegant option for a one-of-a-kind event experience.

The hotel is surrounded by world-class shopping, a wide variety of dining options, theaters, museums and theme parks, providing exciting choices for groups, families and individuals. Attractively landscaped, the area features pathways, waterfalls, relaxing patios and outdoor art.
Chef John Besh will offer guests and San Antonio residents alike a menu filled with robust local flavors. The gastro-pub and beer house feel will set the standard for casual dining in a warm and appealing space that is perfectly situated on the Riverwalk.

The hotel offers guests all the complimentary amenities found in a traditional Embassy Suites, including spacious two-room suites, cooked-to-order breakfast, evening Manager’s Reception*, state-of-the-art Precor fitness center and business center. Guests can also enjoy the outdoor pool.
One-bedroom suites feature either one king bed or two queens, with a full-size sofa sleeper in the living room, while 11 two-bedroom suites offer a king bed in one room and two queen beds in the second bedroom. Guest bathrooms are beautifully appointed with granite counters, tiled tub and shower surrounds. Riverview Suites come with a stunning view of the San Antonio River.
All options are equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, spacious living and dining area, two 32-inch flat-screen TVs, alarm clock/radio with MP3 connection, two phones with data ports, and wireless or wired high speed Internet access.
