Wayne Johnson is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Maple Leaf Foods Inc.

Prior to joining Maple Leaf Foods in June 1996, Mr. Johnson was Managing Director, Human Resources at Stentor Resource Centre Inc., a joint venture of nine Canadian telecommunications companies. Earlier appointments included Vice President, Human Resources Integration with the Royal Bank of Canada, and Vice President, Human Resources, Director Training & Development and Manager of Productivity, all with the Royal Trust Corporation.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Johnson spent several years in Human Resource & Organization Effectiveness consulting with Touche Ross (now Deloitte & Touche LLP) during which he worked with over 100 clients to improve their results through people. He also consulted to Canadian police forces in a variety of human resources arenas. He began his career in human resources with the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Armed Forces serving as a Personnel Selection officer at the CF Personnel Selection Unit, Halifax and as Base Personnel Officer at CFB Kingston. He began his military career as the Assistant Weapons Officer aboard a Canadian destroyer – H.M.C.S. Margaree.
Mr. Johnson holds a Master of Applied Science degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from the University of Waterloo (1975) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from McGill University (1968).
