BridgeWave Communications and TESSCO Technologies Announce Distribution Alliance

BridgeWave's products ease RF congestion and complement TESSCO's total source solutions for point-to-point broadband access

Santa Clara, CA - December 7, 2004 - BridgeWave Communications, the technology leader in upper millimeter-wave wireless communications, and TESSCO Technologies Incorporated, a leading provider of integrated products plus supply chain solutions to the wireless communications industry, announced that TESSCO Technologies will sell, market, provide engineering support and stock BridgeWave gigabit wireless products. BridgeWave manufacturers its GE60 product in its United States facility, a 60 GHz license-exempt wireless link that interconnects nearby buildings at full-rate gigabit Ethernet speeds.

Richard Guipe, senior vice president of TESSCO's network infrastructure line of business said, "We are pleased with the addition of the BridgeWave product line at TESSCO. The new products will enable us to continue to provide the broadest range of wireless solutions in the industry. We feel this product will be very effective for high capacity wireless links in congested metropolitan applications. The GE60 is the first of several high-capacity, cost-effective products that BridgeWave is developing. The GE60 is one of the highest performance products of its kind, while setting one the most aggressive price points in the industry. We are impressed with BridgeWave's commitment to deliver flawless products through innovative product design and the use of advanced manufacturing and test processes."

BridgeWave's radios feature a reduced-component radio architecture that yields one of the highest calculated MTBF values in the industry (28 years). BridgeWave is also an early adopter of state-of-the-art Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) during design and product development and Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) during manufacture in order to screen out component or workmanship issues that could result in premature field failures.

The GE60 is designed to deliver reliable, low latency, very high performance broadband connections to customers in the health care, education, government, utilities, entertainment and other industries. "TESSCO has established itself as one of the largest suppliers of wireless products and supply chain solutions and is the leading provider of 60 GHz wireless links into BridgeWave's targeted customer base," said Amir Makleff, President and CEO of BridgeWave Communications. "TESSCO's ability to deliver all components needed to build a complete system based on BridgeWave's gigabit wireless products allows BridgeWave to focus on its core competencies while providing our VARs and end customers with a total solution delivered from a single source."
