Gannett receives Edward R. Murrow awards

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 2, 2007--Gannett's Broadcast Division today announced its stations had won a total of 28 regional Edward R. Murrow awards in the 2007 annual competition. Three of the awards were for Overall Excellence.

The Edward R. Murrow awards, which honor outstanding achievement in broadcast and Web journalism, were announced by the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA). Of the 13 regions identified by RTNDA, Gannett won awards in 11 of them.

Recipients of the regional Murrow award automatically compete for the national awards, which are given in October 2007 at a dinner in New York City.
