MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) announced today Susan D. Leath has been named president and publisher of The News Journal in Wilmington, DE. Leath comes to The News Journal after serving as president and publisher of The Centre Daily Times in State College, PA since 2009.

Leath started at The Centre Daily Times in 2005 as director of advertising and marketing and was later promoted to president and publisher. Prior to The Centre Daily Times, Leath served as advertising director for the Tuscaloosa (AL) News, where she was responsible for growing and managing advertising sales revenue. Leath has also worked in advertising and sales for the St. Petersburg (FL) Times, The Gainesville (FL) Sun, WCJB-TV in Gainesville, FL, and the Ocala (FL) Star Banner.
Leath has a bachelor's degree in advertising from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. She is married with three children. Leath has served on the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association's Board of Directors and government affairs committee.
