Stephen K. Klasko, M.D., M.B.A., Joins Teleflex Board of Directors

LIMERICK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 2008--Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE:TFX), announced today that Dr. Stephen K. Klasko, Senior Vice President for Health Sciences and Dean, College of Medicine at the University of South Florida (USF), and CEO of the University of South Florida Physicians Group, has joined the company's Board of Directors.

Jeffrey P. Black, chairman and chief executive officer of Teleflex, said, "Dr. Klasko is an important addition to our board as Teleflex assumes more leadership in healthcare. We value his varied experience in the practice and administration of medicine, as well as his proven ability to deliver winning strategies in the competitive healthcare arena."

In his current position at USF, Dr. Klasko is responsible for the administrative, financial, strategic, clinical and educational activities of the university's colleges of medicine, nursing, public health and physical therapy. Dr. Klasko also previously held leadership positions at the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley Hospital in Bethlehem, Pa. He holds an M.D. from Hahnemann University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, both in Philadelphia. Dr. Klasko also earned a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from Lehigh University.

Additionally, George Babich, Jr., William R. Cook and Benson F. Smith were re-elected to the Board. Messrs. Klasko, Babich, Cook and Smith will serve a three-year term expiring in 2011.

John J. Sickler, who had served as director of the company since 2006, and previously from 1972 to 1992, did not stand for re-election. Mr. Sickler retired as vice chairman of Teleflex in October of 2007 after more than 35 years with the company. The Board is grateful for Mr. Sickler's many contributions to the company over the course of his career.
