Q.When was Costco Wholesale’s initial public offering and at what price?
A.The Company went public on December 5, 1985 at $10.00 per share (before stock splits). Adjusting for stock splits, the initial price per share was approximately $1.67.

Q.Does Costco Wholesale pay dividends?
A.On April 28, 2004, the Company announced that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend on Costco common stock. The first dividend of $0.10 per share was paid May 31, 2004. For more information CLICK HERE.

Q.Will I receive a tax statement for dividends?
A.Costco shareholders will receive their 1099-DIV tax statement attached to the last dividend check issued for the calendar year. If you have questions regarding your 1099-DIV statements, please contact Computershare at 1-800-249-8982. Neither Costco Wholesale nor Computershare can provide tax advice and you are encouraged to consult with your personal tax advisor to determine the tax status of your stock ownership.

Q.When did Costco Wholesale merge with The Price Company (d.b.a. Price Club)?
A.The ex-dividend date for the merger was 10/21/93. At that time, a new company was created called PriceCostco, Inc. (ticker symbol PCCW). Effective 10/21/93, each share of The Price Company stock was (or should have been) exchanged for 2.13 shares of PriceCostco. Each share of Costco Wholesale was (or should have been) exchanged for 1.0 shares of PriceCostco. In February 1997, the Company changed its name from PriceCostco, Inc. to Costco Companies, Inc. and changed its NASDAQ ticker symbol to COST.

Effective August 30, 1999, Costco Companies, Inc. changed its name to Costco Wholesale Corporation and reincorporated from Delaware to Washington.
