Sanjay Khosla provides Best Buy with a strong background in multi-national operations and transformational leadership, as well as a deep knowledge of branding and consumer marketing.

Mr. Khosla retired at the end of March 2013 from Mondelez International (formerly part of Kraft Foods). He served as the Executive Vice President and President, Developing Markets for the food and beverage company that includes iconic brands including Cadbury, Trident, Oreo and Tang.

In that role, he focused on developing markets and was credited with leading Kraft through a successful business turnaround. His experience in these capacities is especially important to Best Buy, the world’s largest consumer electronics retailer, and a company with a presence in 13 countries.

Mr. Khosla’s in-depth perspective was gained through overseeing companies in the consumer products industry, as well as holding executive leadership positions for companies located around the world. He served as Managing Director of Consumer and Food Service for Fonterra Co-operative Group, Ltd., a multi-national dairy company based in New Zealand, and he devoted 27 years to working with Unilever PLC based in Europe, India and the United Kingdom. During his time with Unilever, the consumer products giant and producer of top brands, including Vaseline, Lipton, Dove and Ben & Jerry’s, he was Chairman of the company’s beverage category board worldwide.

Today, Mr. Khosla serves on the boards of NIIT Ltd., an IT-enabled education company based in India, and the Goodman Theater in Chicago. Mr. Khosla holds a degree from Indian Institute of Technology and has completed Harvard University’s Advanced Management Program.
