Who is Sonoco?
Founded in 1899 as the Southern Novelty Company, Sonoco is a global packaging company based in Hartsville, South Carolina.
What kind of packaging products and services does Sonoco provide?
Sonoco provides thousands of products and services to consumer and industrial customers worldwide. Sonoco is the global leader in the production of paper-based tubes and cores that are used for winding and transporting such products as textiles, paper, film, foil and tape -- anything that is wound during the manufacturing process; and composite cans, which are containers with paperboard bodies that use a variety of materials as liners, closures and labels. Composite cans are used to package such products as snacks, refrigerated dough and pastries, frozen juice concentrate; powdered beverages; powdered cleansers and a wide range of other products. In addition, Sonoco produces flexible printed packaging; point-of-purchase displays; corner posts for protecting major appliances during shipping; reels for wire and cable; molded and injection molded plastics; coasters and glass covers; and other packaging products and services.
Sonoco’s total solutions capabilities include design, development and testing of leading technology packaging; global graphics management to enhance customers’ brand image; graphics reproduction including laser engraved cylinders to ensure the highest quality packaging graphics reproduction; and service centers to provide packing fulfillment, purchasing, inventory control and delivery capabilities.
