Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Martin Craighead is chairman and chief executive officer of Baker Hughes Incorporated. Craighead joined Baker Hughes in 1986, and most recently held executive roles as president and chief operating officer, and senior vice president and chief operating officer. During his career with the company, he has had various technical and operational leadership responsibilities throughout the Americas and the Asia Pacific region, including three years as group president of the Drilling and Evaluation business unit.

Craighead holds the International Executive Master of Business Administration degree from Vanderbilt University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum and natural gas engineering from the Pennsylvania State University. He is the recipient of the 2010 C. Drew Stahl Distinguished Achievement Award at Pennsylvania State.

President, Latin America
Maria Claudia Borras is President, Latin America for Baker Hughes Incorporated. She previously served as President, Europe. Borras also served as Vice President, Global Marketing. Prior to her global marketing role, she served in various operations, product line management, and leadership roles, leveraging her expertise in marketing, operations, and engineering. Prior to joining Baker Hughes in 1994, Borras worked for Petrobras, Occidental de Colombia, and Esso Colombia as a petroleum engineer. She earned a degree in petroleum engineering from America University in Colombia, a finance degree from Andes University in Colombia, and an executive certificate in international marketing from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

President, Global Products and Services
Belgacem Chariag is President, Global Products and Services for Baker Hughes Incorporated. Previously, he served as President (and Vice President) of Eastern Hemisphere Operations since 2009. Prior to joining Baker Hughes, Chariag was Vice President of Health, Safety, Environment, and Security for Schlumberger. He also headed Schlumberger’s businesses in Egypt, East Africa, and East Mediterranean. Chariag held a variety of leadership and management for the company, including President of Well Services and Marketing Vice President for Europe, Caspian, and Africa as well as a variety of field operations, technical support, and management positions in Angola, Tunisia, the UAE and Qatar. Chariag earned a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas.

Vice President, Human Resources
Didier Charreton is Vice President, Human Resources for Baker Hughes Incorporated. Before joining Baker Hughes in 2007, Charreton served as Human Resources Director for Coats, based in the U.K. Previously, he held a variety of positions within human resources for Schlumberger in Europe, Latin America, and the United States. Charreton earned a business degree from the Ecole Superieure de Commerce of Clermont-Ferrand and a post-graduate degree (DEA Sc de Gestion) from the University of Lyon.

Senior Vice President, Chief Legal and Governance Officer
Alan Crain is Senior Vice President, Chief Legal and Governance Officer of Baker Hughes Incorporated. He joined Baker Hughes as Vice President and General Counsel in 2000 and was named Senior Vice President in 2007. Crain has broad experience as a corporate legal executive. He served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary for Crown Cork & Seal Company, and as Vice President and General Counsel for Union Texas Petroleum. Crain also has held legal positions at Pennzoil and El Paso Energy. He earned a Juris Doctor degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Syracuse University, in addition to a Master of Science degree and a Bachelor of Science degree both in management engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Archana (Archie) Deskus is Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Baker Hughes Incorporated. She previously served as Vice President and CIO for Ingersoll-Rand and has more than two decades of experience in the aerospace, industrials and consumer products industries. Throughout her career, she has been credited with building and developing high-performing teams and partnering with business leaders to successfully implement large-scale transformational projects. Deskus worked at United Technologies for 19 years with positions of increasing responsibility, including Executive Director, Infrastructure and E-Business at Pratt & Whitney; and Vice President and CIO at Carrier North America. She worked as Senior Vice President and CIO for Timex Corporation. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration/management information systems from Boston University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Biography PhotoAngela Durkin
Vice President, Health, Safety and Environment
Angela Durkin is Vice President, Health, Safety, and Environment for Baker Hughes. She is responsible for all of the company’s health, safety, and environmental initiatives, compliance, and metrics. Durkin joined Baker Hughes in 1996 and has served in management and executive positions in the United States and Europe. Prior to her current role, she served as Vice President of Continental Europe for the company. Previously, she served in leadership roles in manufacturing quality, reliability assurance, operations and technical support, business development, and emerging technologies. Her expertise and project work includes extended-reach and multilateral drilling, logging-while-drilling technology, drilling with liners and casing, and slim nuclear magnetic resonance technology. Durkin earned a Master of Science degree in electrotechnology and honors in a physics laboratory apprenticeship with the German government.
Biography PhotoDerek Mathieson
Chief Strategy Officer

Derek Mathieson is Chief Strategy Officer for Baker Hughes Incorporated. Mathieson’s previous positions at Baker Hughes include President Western Hemisphere, President of Products and Technology, and Chief Technology and Marketing Officer. He joined Baker Hughes in 2008 from WellDynamics where he served as Chief Executive Officer. His oil and gas career also includes Shell Exploration & Production and Wood Group in the United Kingdom. Mathieson earned a Ph.D. in micro electro-mechanical systems, a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering and was recently awarded an honorary doctorate in engineering all from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is a chartered engineer with the United Kingdom Engineering Council, a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

President, Middle East and Asia Pacific
Khaled Nouh is President, Middle East and Asia Pacific for Baker Hughes Incorporated. Before this appointment, he was President, Middle East from 2009 to 2013. He started his career with Saudi Aramco in 1990 before joining Schlumberger in 1994 as field engineer. After several operational positions in various Middle East countries, Nouh held global marketing, human resources and line management positions. He was then given responsibility for Schlumberger's geomarkets in Libya and Saudi Arabia before being appointed Vice President, Integrated Project Management for the Middle East and East Mediterranean region. A native of Saudi Arabia, Nouh earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from King Saud University in Riyadh.

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Peter Ragauss is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Baker Hughes Incorporated. He joined Baker Hughes in 2006 from BP in London, where he served as Segment Controller of Refining and Marketing. Ragauss previously was Chief Executive Officer of Air BP and assistant to the group chief executive of BP. Earlier in his career, Ragauss served as Vice President of Finance and Portfolio Management for Amoco Energy International, Vice President of Finance for El Paso Energy International, and Vice President of Corporate Development for Tenneco Energy. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School. Ragauss is a member of the Alley Theatre Board of Directors.

Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
Mario Ruscev is Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Baker Hughes Incorporated. Ruscev has more than 30 years of technology and operations experience in the oilfield services industry. He joined Baker Hughes from Geotech Seismic Services, where he served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Ruscev previously served as CEO of FormFactor and spent more than 20 years with Schlumberger in a number of senior roles in France, the U.K., and Norway. Early in his career, Ruscev formed a research team that developed imaging systems such as container imaging systems (based on gaseous detectors) and airport luggage screening systems that remain in use today. He has led a number of teams whose work had significantly advanced the success of wireline logging tools, seismic resolution and measurement capabilities and underground water management and carbon sequestration. Ruscev earned a Doctorate degree in nuclear physics from the Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris, and a PhD degree in nuclear physics from Yale University, and is a Director of the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute.

Arthur (Art) Soucy is President, Europe, Africa, and Russia Caspian for Baker Hughes Incorporated. Before this appointment, he served as President, Global Products and Services. Soucy also served as the company’s Vice President of Supply Chain, where he was responsible for sales and operations planning, manufacturing, purchasing, transportation and logistics, and quality. Before joining Baker Hughes, he was Vice President, Global Supply Chain for Pratt & Whitney. Soucy held a variety of management positions at Pratt & Whitney. He also spent 10 years working for Hamilton Standard, serving in various manufacturing, engineering and product development management roles. Soucy earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor degree in international business from Lesley University in Massachusetts.

President, North America
Richard Williams is President, North America for Baker Hughes Incorporated. He previously served as President, U.S. Land and President, Gulf of Mexico region. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in his 37 years with Baker Hughes. Throughout his career, he has held executive positions in operations for Baker Hughes’ completions, drilling and drilling fluids product lines, providing a broad base of global experience across the hydrocarbon asset life cycle. Williams is on the Board of Directors of the Center for Offshore Safety, the National Ocean Industries Association and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Independent Petroleum Association of America and Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix and an Associate of Science degree in petroleum technology from Lincoln College.
