Governor’s Office Honors TeleTech and University Prep’s Commitment to
Helping Denver Students
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 26, 2013--
TeleTech
Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEC), a leading global provider of
technology-enabled customer engagement solutions, was recognized by the
Governor’s office for its dedication to Denver
Public School, University
Preparatory School (UPrep). Through its charitable foundation,
TeleTech has established a three-year commitment to provide UPrep
students with the tools and intellectual expertise needed to be ready
for college.

“We should have high expectations for every single kid in every single
community,” explained Lt. Governor Garcia at the celebration event at
the school. “Schools like University Prep are designed to help them be
successful. And when students get assistance from business partners like
TeleTech, the possibilities are endless. By working together, we can see
results that really transform not just an individual, but a community.”
As part of the partnership, TeleTech has provided UPrep with 60 iPads
that TeleTech’s IT staff configured with Spatial-Temporal
(ST) Math, as well as 10 interactive
Smartboards. In addition, TeleTech is supporting the school’s first
library, a Book Trust fundraising drive, reading campaigns, science lab
enhancements, school uniform purchases, teacher appreciation luncheons
and teacher meeting spaces. TeleTech’s gift will also help the school
expand their curriculum to include fourth and fifth grade by the
2015-2016 school year.
UPrep founder and Head-of-School David Singer explained why TeleTech’s
support is so important. “TeleTech has truly set the gold standard for
what it means to have a private company partner with a public school.
Because of TeleTech’s generosity, the children are able to use amazing
technologies every day.” UPrep adheres to a motto that “College starts
in kindergarten,” and the technology and support provided by TeleTech
will provide them with a great foundation.
TeleTech chairman and CEO Ken Tuchman described why the company chose to
partner with UPrep. “We believe in UPrep’s model that combines
outstanding academic performance with character development, innovation,
and leadership at a young age. We didn’t just want to donate money; we
wanted to be actively involved. So in addition to equipping the school
with the physical technology, we provided our technological expertise to
train and assist the UPrep staff to get the most out of these
technologies.”
